Who is Jason Lew?

I am a first generation Chinese American, born and raised in Queens, NY. I’ve called North Hempstead home for the past 10 years and currently reside in Roslyn with my family and our bernedoodle Oreo.

Why are you running for office?

The demographics in North Hempstead has changed since I moved here 10 years ago, with more families moving in for the schools and quality of life, yet I continue to see a lack of Chinese American representation in our government. Over the past few years—especially during the rise of anti-Asian hate at the peak of COVID—we’ve seen just how crucial representation is. Today, our communities still face challenges that deserve to be heard. I hope to be that representation we need in North Hempstead.

Thank you to the Lakeville Estate Civic Association for inviting us to walk with them during this years New Hyde Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It was a beautiful day and it couldnt have been better!

I had the pleasure of meeting Varlie, owner of Varli Kitchen, in Williston Park during their Holi celebration. She was so gracious and welcomed us in to enjoy her amazing food, surrounded by great friends and neighbors!

Congratulations to my good friend Juleigh Chin for a sucessful campaign kick off! The turnout shows the support she has behind her as she runs for Nassau County Legislator in District 9. Shes been doing so many great things for her community behind the scenes but she’s coming out strong to win your vote to represent District 9.
